Riding gloves and riding socks are small things you notice on every ride: the rein slips through your fingers less easily and your boot rubs less against your calf. Here you will find gloves with grip for children and adults, and long socks and knee socks for inside the riding boot.

Gloves

The Magic Grippy gloves are made of stretchy knitted fabric with grip on the palm. They come in one size that adapts to the hand, and you wash them in the machine at 30 °C. There is a rainbow version and a black version for children, and a black one for adults. The Magic Touch comes in one size for everyone and has fibres in the fingertips, so you can use your phone without taking the glove off.

What to look for in gloves

  • Size: children's hands grow quickly. A stretchy one-size glove fits for longer than a glove with a fixed size.
  • Grip: grip on the palm helps you hold the rein, even when the rein is wet.
  • Use: knitted gloves are pleasant in cooler weather and for grooming or lungeing. If you have to wear a specific colour at a competition, check the rules.

Riding socks and knee socks

Riding socks and knee socks reach to just below the knee, so the shaft of your boot does not rub against your bare calf. They are made of cotton with polyamide and elastane and have extra reinforcement at the toe, heel and ball of the foot. The riding socks come in brown/beige/white and dark grey/pink/purple, the knee socks in four colour combinations, all in size 43-46.

Points to note

Wear socks that are tight enough not to slip down, because a fold in the boot starts to press after an hour of riding. Do not wash gloves with grip too hot, or the grip will wear more quickly.

There is more for yourself as a rider in rider equipment, for example dressage letters and mounting blocks. Gloves and socks also make a small gift for a horse lover.

Frequently asked questions

What size riding glove does my child need?
The Magic Grippy for children comes in one size and stretches with the hand. That way it often fits for several years.

Can I use my phone with the Magic Touch?
Yes, the fingertips contain silver fibres that let you use a touchscreen without taking the glove off.

What is the difference between riding socks and knee socks?
Both are long socks for inside the riding boot with reinforcement at the toe, heel and ball. They differ mainly in colour combinations.
