You tackle moths in two steps: first find out which moth you have, then clear out the source and hang up traps that show whether it is working. For the Geo holder, choose a glue board for clothes moths or for pantry moths; the manufacturer allows one trap per 10 m². For the Black Stripe trap, separate glue boards and the pantry moth pheromone are available, and the Biolock pheromone is a refill for a clothes moth trap.
What a pheromone trap does and does not do
The pheromone lures males to the glue. The catch shows whether there are moths and where most of them are. The damage to clothing and stores, however, comes from the larvae. A trap on its own is therefore rarely enough: combine it with clearing out. Replace the trap or pheromone after the period stated on the packaging, usually six to eight weeks for these traps, or sooner if it is full.

- Clothes moth: empty the wardrobe, vacuum seams and corners and wash affected clothing as hot as the care label allows.
- Pantry moth: throw away affected packaging, clean the shelves and store flour, grain and animal feed in tightly closing containers.
