A cordless sheep shearing machine shears without a cable, so you can work in the field, the shed or a stable without power. This collection contains Clipster's cordless machines: the FarmClipper for sheep and the FarmClipper Akku2 models for cattle and horses, supplemented by the FarmClipper 4 and the Excellent Horse Clipper Toilet Plus.
Which machine for which animal?
| Model | Intended for |
|---|---|
| FarmClipper Clipster Accu | Sheep |
| Clipster FarmClipper Akku2 Rund | Cattle |
| Clipster FarmClipper Akku2 Paard | Horses |
| Clipster FarmClipper 4 | Livestock, see product information |
| Excellent Horse Clipper Toilet Plus | Horses, trimming |
The difference lies mainly in the comb and cutter. Sheep's wool is dense and greasy and needs a different comb from the short, stiff hair of a cow or horse. So choose the machine for the animal you shear most.
What to look for
- Battery: the longer you shear in one go, the more important a spare battery is.
- Weight and grip: you hold the machine for a long time; good balance reduces fatigue.
- Maintenance: oil the blade and comb according to the manual and have blades sharpened in good time.
The right moment to shear and fleece care after shearing are covered in skin and fleece. The sheep machine and hand shears are together in shearing machines and blades; you can see the whole sheep range via the sheep section.
Frequently asked questions
Can I shear a sheep with a cattle clipper?
We do not recommend it. The comb and cutter for cattle are made for short hair; for wool, a sheep machine is more suitable.
What is the advantage of a cordless shearing machine?
You do not need a power socket and will not trip over a cable, handy in the field or a shed without power.
How do I maintain a shearing machine?
After every session, remove lanolin and hair, lubricate as the manufacturer prescribes and have blunt blades sharpened in good time.
