Helping a cow to stand up

For a cow that cannot get up by herself, there are three options. You lift the stainless steel Vink Koelift with a spindle; the manufacturer advises releasing the tension as soon as the animal is standing. The cow lifter holds the cow in a carrying frame and can lift up to 1000 kg. The 2.4 metre Belly Strap Front Lift with a 20 cm belly support is used together with a hip clamp, so the front is supported too. The anti-splay cow leg strap keeps the hind legs together, so they do not slide out sideways.

Points to note

If a cow is lying down and does not get up, call your vet first: a lifter provides support, but does not solve the cause. Leave fitting a nose ring to the vet. For dosing after restraining: boluses and minerals. Brushes and other barn supplies are in cattle brushes and barn supplies; for sheep see everything for your sheep and for cows everything for cattle.

Frequently asked questions

What size Gambrel Restrainer do I need?

What is the difference between the Vink Koelift and the cow lifter?
