Official marking and registration
Which animals you have to mark, with which type of tag, within which period and how you register them differs by country. You therefore order official ear tags through the channel designated for that in your country. Before you buy tools, check which brand of tag you use: the Allflex ear tag applicator is intended for Allflex ear tags, and the separate fixing arrow from Virbac belongs with ear tags of the BoviClip or Auriplac type. With the waterproof Allflex ear tag marker pen, you put your own number or name on a blank ear tag or neck tag.
Points to note
Preferably tag when the animal is well restrained and place the tag in the position indicated by the ear tag manufacturer. Keep the applicator clean and store it dry. A leg band or collar number is an aid for your own overview and does not replace identification that is mandatory in your country.
