Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Flemish Cattle Dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Flemish Cattle Dog belongs. Based on this research, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Flemish Cattle Dog.
Nettle
Nettle is a genus of plants, of which the stinging nettle and the common nettle occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying properties. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.
Nettle supports the function of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it supports the bladder and hair growth in dogs.
Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building block that is part of connective tissue in, among other things, bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair and nails. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and ensures the maintenance of healthy skin.
At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific problems related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as helping to prevent digestive and/or urinary problems.
Fennel
Fennel is a plant in the carrot family and is recognizable by its anise flavor. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb, and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.
Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is also rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C, as well as the minerals iron and potassium.
Fennel can be added to dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and may have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. Raspberry cultivation dates back to the Middle Ages, and the plant is native to all of Europe.
Raspberries contain many substances that can support a dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fiber.

Puppy, adult, or senior?
To help you choose the right variant of our Flemish Shepherd dog food, please use the following guidelines. If your Flemish Shepherd is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Flemish Shepherd older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Flemish Shepherd Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transfer advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. Allow your dog two days to adjust to this. Next, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. Again, allow your dog two or three days to adjust. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. Your dog is now almost completely switched over to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can feed 100% Yourdog Flemish Cattle Dog food at your own discretion.
Storage instructions
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it's important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It's best not to put the food loose in the container, but to place the entire bag, tightly closed, inside.
