Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle growth and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other beneficial properties. The fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring your dog receives all the essential, natural antioxidants. This can benefit your dog's immune system, contribute to fresh breath, and help maintain a healthy digestive system. These natural ingredients promote your dog's overall health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweed, among other things, has its origins thousands of years ago. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced through the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Jack Russell-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Jack Russell Terrier. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and FCI breed group to which the Jack Russell Terrier belongs. Based on this research, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, we have selected ingredients that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Jack Russell Terrier.
Licorice root
Licorice root is derived from the Greek words "glykys" meaning "sweet" and "rhiza" meaning "root," hence its scientific name, *Glycyrrhiza glabra*. The plant originates in Eurasia, North Africa, and West Asia. Licorice has long been attributed medicinal properties, and its root is frequently used in the preparation of herbal teas.
Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and also possesses anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. In addition, it can contribute to the healing of the stomach lining and is considered beneficial for a sensitive gastrointestinal system.
Carrot
The carrot as we know it today, the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originated in Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC (Dutch East India Company) in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. They contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A. This is important for the development of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fiber in carrots aids in a dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.
At Yourdog, we add carrots to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific problems related to the dog's coat and skin. It also promotes good eyesight and healthy digestion.
Raspberries
The raspberry is a plant in the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. Raspberry cultivation dates back to the Middle Ages, and the plant is native to all of Europe.
Raspberries contain many substances that can support a dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fiber.
Raspberries are added to our dog food because of their anti-inflammatory properties and their ability to positively contribute to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also help maintain good eyesight and a healthy cardiovascular system.
