Description
Puur Natuur Pseudo-pregnancy (False Pregnancy) 50 ml
For fluctuating moods and discomfort during and after heat/cycle in dogs and rabbits.
Supplementary animal feed for Cat, Dog, Rodent.
Composition:
Extracts of common sage (Salvia officinalis) and oat (Avena sativa). Diluted extract of devil's dung (Asa foetida). Alcohol 29% v/v.
Indication(s):
For optimal hormone balance in the female dog and to counteract various types of pseudopregnancy behavior.
Although many of our dogs bear little resemblance to wild wolves in appearance, the essence of much canine behavior remains the same as that of their wild ancestors. One of these inherited traits is that many modern domestic dogs, even though they do not live in packs and there is no alpha female to help with suckling (the original purpose of pseudopregnancy in the wolf pack), exhibit the same pseudopregnant behavior.
Often, the first noticeable sign is that female dogs start behaving differently from the onset of their heat cycle. In animals that have been fertilized, the progesterone level begins to rise from that period onwards; the same happens in unfertilized, pseudopregnant female dogs. After giving birth, this progesterone level drops again, and the hormone prolactin ensures that milk production starts. This hormone also influences the behavior of female dogs.
Many pseudopregnant female dogs like to retreat, or even want to make a den, become grumpy, eat less well and want to go outside less. Other female dogs become annoyingly clingy, or very whiny.
Some female dogs even go looking for surrogate children and drag anything that could pass for a puppy, such as socks, slippers or toys, to their 'nest'.
Pseudopregnancy can be a very unpleasant period, both for the female dog and for the owner.
Pure pseudopregnancy normalizes the abnormal behavior of the female dog during this period.

1ml = 20 drops.
The product can be administered directly or with a little water using a plastic spoon or syringe. It can also be added to a treat. Administer PUUR Schijnzwanger at least half an hour before or after feeding, so that it can be absorbed by the clean mucous membrane of the mouth. Start administering PUUR Schijnzwanger at the end of the heat period and continue until the time the pseudopregnancy would normally have ended. In cases of very severe pseudopregnancy, it may be advisable to start administering PUUR Schijnzwanger during the heat period. When PUUR Schijnzwanger is administered when a female dog shows signs of pseudopregnancy, the effect should be noticeable after about 3 days to a week. If there is no noticeable effect, the dose should be increased to a maximum of double the dosage.
PUUR Schijnzwanger can be used in combination with other medications without any problems.
In rare cases, an harmless and short-lived worsening of symptoms may occur at the beginning of treatment with the drops. This indicates that the animal is responding intensely to the medication. If this worsening is bothersome, you should halve the recommended dose for your animal or skip a dose. If you suspect a side effect, please report it to your veterinarian or animal therapist.
Instructions for use : Start administering PUUR Schijnzwanger at the end of the heat period. In rabbits, PUUR Schijnzwanger is given as needed.
Treatment duration
In an acute situation, the duration of treatment is relatively short. This can vary from a few days to 3 weeks. Continue administering this product for a few more days even if you see improvement.
For prolonged discomfort, the effect is usually visible after 1 to 3 weeks. If there is improvement, a maintenance dose can be used. This is usually half the dose indicated on the packaging. When dosing this product, carefully monitor the animal's reaction. A higher dose may be necessary initially; this product can be safely given at double the dose. Gradually reduce the dose to the lowest possible level.
This product can be given continuously (rabbit). It is advisable to take a break for one week after every 6 to 8 weeks. This allows the 'stimulus' to be offered again after the break. Resume treatment immediately if necessary.
