How to Teach Your Dog to 'Carry Objects'

- Give the command: Say "Get" or "Carry" as you offer the object. Reward him as soon as he picks it up with his mouth.
- Extend the time: Encourage your dog to hold the object a little longer before rewarding him.
- Practice carrying: Guide your dog while he holds the object and takes a few steps. Reward him as soon as he successfully moves with the object.
- Reward only on command: Make sure your dog only picks up and carries the object when you ask him to.
