How do you teach your dog to 'Off'?

2. Start from a sitting position : Have your dog do "Sit" first to make the transition to "Down" easier.
3. Guided by a hand movement : Hold the treat near your dog's nose and slowly move it downward, toward the ground, and slightly forward between its legs. This encourages your dog to lie down.
4. Give the "Down" command : As soon as your dog begins to lie down, clearly say "Down" in a calm, friendly tone. You can also use a marker signal, such as "Yes" or "Yes," once he is completely down.
5. Reward immediately : Give your dog the treat and praise him enthusiastically as soon as he is in the correct position.
6. Practice regularly : Repeat this daily in short sessions of 5-10 minutes, until your dog understands the command.
