How do you teach your dog 'Here'?

Start close: Choose a quiet place without distractions and make sure you are close to your dog.

Give the command: Say "Here" clearly in an inviting voice while making a hand gesture, such as moving your arm toward you.
Reward only when responding to the command: Make sure you only reward your dog when he comes to you after you say "Come." If he comes to you on his own without you giving the command, don't reward him. This helps your dog understand that he should always wait for your signal.
Build up the distance: Once your dog understands the command, increase the distance between you and practice in situations with more distractions.
Introduce a Leash: Use a long leash to practice safely in a more stimulating environment, such as a park.

Is your dog distracted? Start again in a quiet area before going to busier locations.
