History

The American Hairless Terrier is a relatively young breed, originating in the 1970s in Louisiana, United States. The breed is a natural variation of the Rat Terrier and is known for its unique hairless appearance. While some specimens have a short, thin coat, most are completely hairless. They were originally bred as companion dogs and are popular with allergy sufferers due to their hypoallergenic qualities.

Character and Temperament

The American Hairless Terrier is energetic, playful, and affectionate. They are intelligent and enjoy mental stimulation.
